PDF is excellent for preserving a finished page. Markdown—often shortened to MD—is usually easier when you need to reuse the information inside it: edit headings, search plain text, version changes, or pass passages into another tool.
What conversion changes
A PDF-to-Markdown converter reads the document’s text and structure, then represents useful elements such as headings, paragraphs, lists, and supported tables in plain-text Markdown. The result is easier to edit, search, quote, or hand to an AI assistant or note system.
Quality still depends on the source. Clean digital PDFs with clear headings convert most reliably; scanned pages, dense multi-column layouts, and complex tables may need review. OCR is not part of the initial product.

Can I convert PDF to Markdown online?
Yes—when the free browser converter launches, you will be able to run a limited PDF-to-Markdown conversion online. Until then, this site shows the interface shell only. Online conversion uploads the selected PDF temporarily; for confidential files, prefer the Windows desktop app.
Is “PDF to MD” the same as PDF to Markdown?
Yes. MD is the common shorthand for Markdown. Searching for PDF to MD, Convert PDF to Markdown, or PDF to Markdown Online usually describes the same goal: plain-text structure you can edit and reuse.
Will headings and structure be preserved?
